About PandasWise
PandasWise is a free educational website about giant pandas and red pandas, operated by Joshua Israel Ventures LLC. It aims to give clear, accurate, sourced answers to the questions people ask about pandas, and to keep a current, checked list of where pandas can be seen.
Who runs this site
PandasWise is published by Joshua Israel Ventures LLC, a small independent company that runs a family of educational websites. We are not a zoo, a conservation charity or a research institution, and we have no affiliation with any of the organisations we cite. We do not claim personal field experience with pandas.
How we research and write
- Pages are researched and written with the help of AI tools and checked against published sources before publishing. We do not invent facts, statistics, experts or quotes.
- We rely on primary and authoritative sources: the IUCN Red List, the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance, WWF, peer reviewed studies, official zoo announcements and official Chinese government data, with major news organisations for recent events.
- Every content page lists its sources at the bottom and shows when it was last updated.
- Where sources disagree (for example on how much bamboo a giant panda eats) we show the range and explain why, rather than picking one number.
Keeping the zoo list current
Panda loans change often. Our where to see pandas page is dated, and each row links to the official zoo, operator or government page we checked, with the date we last verified it. We update it when we learn of arrivals, departures or births. If you spot an error, please tell us.
Corrections and contact
Found a mistake or something out of date? Use the contact page or email joshuaofisrael@gmail.com. We correct errors promptly and update the "last updated" date when a change is substantive.
Advertising and affiliates
PandasWise currently has no advertising, sponsored content or affiliate links. If that changes, this page and the privacy policy will say so.
